Picture book illustrated by David Jennings and written by his Mum – Diane Jennings (previously a Teaching Assistant in a primary school).
This book tells the story of a primary school boy’s experience of finding frog spawn and watching this strange substance develop into frogs.
Illustrated throughout with “beautiful” watercolour and pencil sketches. Some of the pages are left without text to encourage discussion about the contents of the illustrations and what the reader thinks is happening in the story.
Acetate pages (as shown in the photos) are used to give the illustrations an extra dimension and add to the watery feel of the book. These allow the reader to wade through the tadpole eggs as they grow through the story.
